With the results it has achieved, Montenegro has unequivocally confirmed its position as a leader in the process of European integration, which was recognized in Brussels, as well as at other European addresses, said the special envoy of France for the Western Balkans, René Trokaz.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) announced that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović met today with Trokaz.
The announcement states that Trokaz confirmed that Montenegro can count on the full support of France in the continuation of integration activities and the implementation of reforms.
"The enlargement policy remains at the top of the priorities, and the joining of the Western Balkan countries, once all the conditions are met, will benefit both the region and the European Union," said Trokaz.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ibrahimović "thanked France for its strong political and expert support, pointing out that the help of partner and friendly countries significantly contributed to the progress that Montenegro has achieved in the past few months".
"Joining the community of European states is our absolute priority. All capacities are directed towards that goal and I believe that, in the coming period, we will witness new successes of Montenegro on the European path," said Ibrahimović.
In the press release, it is written that Ibrahimović "recalled the excellent interstate relations and political dialogue between Montenegro and France, which are additionally strengthened by contacts and cooperation on the implementation of the European agenda".
"The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on other current regional situations, agreeing that the European perspective is the best and safest way to build lasting stability in the Western Balkans," the announcement concludes.
