The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Podgorica has always put the interests of its citizens first, said Nermin Abdić, the holder of the list "In word and deed!".
The DPS announced that Abdić visited Donja Gorica yesterday and spoke with citizens from that part of Podgorica.
"Abdić recalled the numerous projects that the capital implemented in this part of Podgorica at the time when the Democratic Party of Socialists was the backbone of the local government in our city, such as the construction of two boulevards worth 26 million euros, and the significant improvement of the condition of local roads, the introduction modern LED lighting, the construction of a children's playground. Emphasizing that the Democratic Party of Socialists in Podgorica has always put the interests of its citizens first, Abdić promised that after September 29 he would continue to work on improving the quality of life in all parts of the city. Abdić said that one of the first projects that the new city administration will implement in this part of the city will be the continuation of the water supply project in Lješanska nahija.
"In addition, one of the priority projects in Donja Gorica will be the expansion of the local cemetery, since it is known that this is a problem that dates back many years. The new city administration will offer a partnership to the Government of Montenegro on the project of reconstruction of the primary school and kindergarten in Donja Gorica, in with the goal of expanding their capacities. This, Abdić expressed his belief, will further motivate young people to settle in this settlement, which is one of the most beautiful parts of Podgorica," the DPS statement reads.
The DPS announcement also states that "bearing in mind that Donja Gorica is the fastest growing settlement in Podgorica, Abdić promised that he will advocate for the capital, after September 29, to be actively involved in the creation of planning assumptions so that this development accompanied by appropriate communal infrastructure".
Abdić promised that during his mandate, the project of building the Western ring road from the roundabout on Komanski Most to the roundabout near the Grand furniture store in Donja Gorica will be implemented.
"This will make it possible to connect that bypass with the South-Western bypass and thereby move transit from the city center, which will solve a significant part of the traffic jams. Citizens of this part of the city, in addition to the above, will soon be able to enjoy the landscaped oasis of nature in Mala Gorica, as well as in many other projects that the future city administration will implement in the next four years," concludes the DPS announcement.
