Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Brigadier General Zoran Lazarevic, together with the delegation of the Army of Montenegro, participated in the regular annual conference of the NATO Military Committee in Prague.
During the conference, as announced by the Ministry of Defense, the Chiefs of General Staff discussed the military-strategic development of the Alliance, the operations, missions and activities of NATO, in order to give the North Atlantic Council (NAC) military advice that is based on consensus, and how the Alliance would respond to global security challenges in the best way.

"Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), General Christopher Cavoli, informed the Chiefs of General Staff on the progress of the implementation of the so-called DDA family of plans. As he pointed out, these plans make the Alliance stronger and more capable of deterring and, if necessary, defending against any which potential adversary. As part of the NATO support package for Ukraine, the establishment of NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU), and a new command designed to plan, coordinate and organize security assistance, was also discussed," the statement reads.
The Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation (SACT), General Filip Lavinje, briefed the Chiefs of Staff on the Alliance's military transformation in accordance with the NATO Defense Planning Process (NDPP).
"Among other topics, the Chiefs of Staff discussed the launch of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC), an important pillar of practical cooperation, to identify and apply lessons from Russia's war against Ukraine and increase Ukraine's interoperability with NATO- om," it was announced.
At the Conference, it was highlighted that in the year when the Alliance celebrates its 75th anniversary, NATO leaders are taking major steps to further strengthen deterrence and defense, strengthen long-term support for Ukraine and deepen global partnership.
In addition to the MCC, the Military Committee in the format of the Chiefs of General Staff also meets twice a year at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
