Economist Izudin Gušmirović supported the European Union in the run-up to the local elections in Podgorica, stating that he is doing so out of the belief that with the people leading the Union, Podgorica will be a place to set an example, the European Union announced.
"The European Union is a united political force of three political parties with common ideological denominators: civil, independent and sovereign Montenegro; Montenegro as a state of social justice and the Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro," said Gušmirović.
He said that the fact that the three parties in Montenegro have found a common denominator in the political program and supra-party action, and that in his opinion, this "deserves interest and rational judgment about a new political environment that is better for Montenegro".
"The social values that are represented in the individual actions of the members of the 'European Union' so far are those values that I carry within me in all circumstances that in the thirty-year period were challenging and many times passed the test of correctness. The experiences that I gained as a student abroad, and then and working for foreign employers showed me that an operationalized community of peoples and states in Europe is the strongest cohesive factor and the basis of a stable and prosperous Montenegro," said Gušmirović.
"For me, the European Union represents a refreshing of the political communication that I have had so far in Montenegro, and that is why I support this organization because I am convinced that with these people who lead it, Podgorica will be an example," he concluded.
