The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, said that rising prices threaten citizens' purchasing power every day, and that in response to major economic problems, the citizens got the largest government in the history of Montenegro - with 32 members and seven vice-presidents.
He also said that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić "must not" have a duel with him in order to talk "about real problems and wrong policies".
Milatović spoke today in Komani at the meeting of the coalition "For a better Podgorica – Jakov Milatović".
He assessed that the upcoming elections represent "the first step towards the next one, which means a better Montenegro".
"What we have today is not what we fought for. What we have today is the opposite of what the citizens expected," Milatović said, according to the coalition "For a better Podgorica – Jakov Milatović".
He reminded that the huge increase in prices threatens the purchasing power of citizens every day, and that apartment prices and rent are everyday problems that citizens of Podgorica and the whole of Montenegro face today.
"As a response to major economic problems, we got the largest government in the history of Montenegro, which is a government of 32 members and seven vice-presidents. No one talks anymore about the anti-mafia law and how the illegally acquired property of criminals in Montenegro should be confiscated. Today, no one talks about support for farmers, about support for the countryside, and these are all forgotten topics," said Milatović.
He pointed out that today in Montenegro there is talk about which party will get how many ministries, how many positions in the government, and that this is not the Montenegro we fought for.
"That's why we're here today not only for a better Podgorica, but also for a better Montenegro. Because people who currently think differently from us don't have the courage to cross the line, to cross arguments with us. That's why even the Prime Minister must not come out on duel with me and to talk about real problems and wrong policies that are on the scene today in Montenegro", said Milatović.
He said that Luka Rakčević, unlike others, truly fought for a better Podgorica both from the opposition and from the positions of the government.
"That's why our list, headed by Luka as a candidate for mayor on September 29, will receive the support of the citizens to continue their fight, to make Podgorica a better place to live together with the team of these sincere, honest, dedicated and brave people," he concluded. is Milatović.
