The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) received more support in the elections held on Sunday in Gusinje than in last year's elections, while the Democrats, who used all the government's resources to somehow gain support, managed to barely get only one mandate, announced from DPS.
"Bečić's Demolished Montenegro (DCG) is slowly but steadily disappearing from the political scene, and survives only thanks to the fact that they renounced their pride and dignity and constantly formed an unprincipled coalition with those who insulted and humiliated them. In their unenviable status, where the party is falling apart in depth, and from the outside it already looks broken, a state of helplessness that we wouldn't wish even on the worst political opponent, for them and their leader Bečić, winning 1 mandate seems like a huge victory, but that's why our 6 mandates are declared a defeat?!", it is stated in the press release of the DPS.
This political party says that they understand the distorted perception of the reality of the failed party and its leader, but that they have zero tolerance when it comes to their subversion and lies.
"Namely, the Democratic Party of Socialists won 509 votes at the last parliamentary election in Gusinje, in a coalition with the Social Democratic Party and the Democratic Union of Albanians, and yesterday it alone won 435 votes, i.e. 6 mandates. So, the result is only 73 votes less than the number that DPS won when it went to the elections in a coalition with two other parties that have respectable political support in Gusinje," explained DPS.
They add that yesterday the SD participated in a coalition with the Bosniac Party in which it won six mandates, that the DUA won one mandate, while the councilor who participated in another political arrangement and was on their list last year, won two more mandates.
"So, it is clear that DPS received more support than in last year's elections, because our party ran independently this time, won 6 mandates, and 435 votes, only a few dozen less than when it was in a coalition with political entities that together won 9 mandates in these elections.
On the other hand, the Democrats, who used all the government's resources to somehow get support, misused everything that could be misused, with the support of PES, managed to get only one mandate, barely," the DPS announced.
This party said that they are sure that every new attempt by the Democrats to raise their minimum rating by celebrating defeat as a victory will further devalue their already low value on the political scene of Montenegro.
