The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijel Živković told the citizens of Stari aerodrome and Konika at a forum held on the eve of the upcoming local elections in Podgorica that they go beyond the importance of local elections, the DPS announced.
"That's why we will send a message on September 29 that it can no longer be like this. Rotten compromises, the race to occupy the seats, have led us to the most cumbersome government, which does not work for the benefit of this country and its citizens, a government that is not interested in solving problems but in creating them , and then runs away from responsibility," Živković pointed out.
He recalled the irresponsible attitude of the current government towards the problem of chive fever.
"We have an infection that spreads uncontrollably through the country and destroys the health of people and animals, we have unsafe food, we have charlatans in power who play with the future of our citizens as if on the stock market. We have a health system that, when you get sick, you realize that it is not working, we have a security sector which today is destroyed and serves the interests of other states, we have rampant inflation and a government that has led to the collapse of public finances," the DPS president pointed out.
In order to get out of this situation, said Živković, first we have to fix Podgorica, fix the capital and remove this chaos that their authorities managed to create in a year, and then from Podgorica let's fight for Montenegro.
"The new generation in our party has set as its goal to pull Montenegro out of the abyss into which it was led by this government, which destroyed everything it touched. On September 29, citizens should know that voting for the Democratic Party of Socialists is the wisest choice, because in our actions so far we have proven that we never put party interests ahead of state interests," Živković said.
He said that the experience of 2020 reminds them how easily citizens' votes went to the wrong side.
"We know how often in our modern political history, the struggle for seats was justified by some higher interests, and unprincipled coalitions were created that seemed to be against DPS, but were actually against Montenegro. I'm not telling you about my impressions, but about historical facts, so be wise this September 29, don't be fooled and give your trust to the Democratic Party of Socialists," concluded Živković.
Holder of the list "In word and deed!" Nermin Abdić promised that the new city administration, after September 29, will put an end to the chaos in Podgorica, and that Podgorica will once again be governed by responsible and competent people. He said that the city will once again continue on the path of intensive development, and that the men and women of Podgorica will never again have to look at overflowing containers, dug-up roads and traffic chaos in their city with shame.
Abdić said that DPS has proven that it has a concrete vision for the development of Podgorica and efficient, sustainable ways to realize that vision for every part of the city.
"In this regard, we will complete the construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard at the Old Airport. The construction of the underpass as a continuation of Sava Kovačević Boulevard will connect the part of the city around TC Gintaš with Zmaj Jovina Street at the Old Airport. In addition, work will also be done on expanding the parking capacity in this area city through the construction of an above-ground garage," promised the DPS candidate for mayor.
