Candidate for mayor of the "Jakov Milatović - For a better Podgorica" list Luka Rakčević promised the citizens of Stari aerodrome and Konik that, if they are part of the government in the capital, within 100 days of its formation, Veljko Vlahović boulevard will be completed.
Rakčević told the crowd that they were always there to defend the interests of Podgorica.
"And in 2015, when we stood up against the devastation of the Podgorica hotel, and in 2017, when we defended Block V, and in 2018, when we protected the area of the Morača barracks and when we defended the Gorica hill, and in 2019, when we defended Njegošev Park. For all this time, some of our current political competitors kept silent about all these problems and advised DPS officials, stayed in their headquarters and were on the side of the destroyers of Podgorica," said Rakčević.
He announced that, if they are part of the government, they will very soon call for a tender for the continuation of the construction of the Pera Ćetković boulevard, which should connect Stari Aerodrom and Konik. He added that they are planning to build an underpass between Zmaj Jovina boulevard and Sava Kovačevića street, with which, as he stated, they want to relieve the traffic of the Old Airport.
"We hope that Prime Minister Spajić will talk about our projects related to the Old Airport at one of the next media conferences, since today we heard him present our project for the construction of Vojislavljević Boulevard, which we have been working on for the past two years, so that today we will see how the Prime Minister Spajić, probably very worried about the results of the elections in Podgorica, is reaching out to present our project as his own and flaunt it as someone else's feathers clearly, on September 29, our list will put an end to populism, crime and nationalism," said Rakčević.
The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, said that the Old Airport, Podgorica and Montenegro need faster development.
"Stari Aerodrom is the place where I grew up, finished elementary school, the place where my parents live and where my children spend almost every weekend. This part of the city has developed a lot compared to the period when I grew up here, but there are still many problems with faced by the citizens living here. That's why Stari Aerodrom, as well as all of Podgorica and Montenegro, needs faster development," said Milatović
He added that two years ago he spoke about the vision and need for the development of Podgorica.
Milatović said that the team led by Rakčević "has the best program for a better Podgorica and for all its citizens".
"It is a team of honorable, dedicated, honest people who, together with Luka, who is a sincere fighter for a better Podgorica, and who will change this city at the speed at which the citizens expect it. Podgorica cannot be led from an armchair from which everyday problems and needs our local communities neither see nor hear. I believe in politics that is based on actions, not empty stories from armchairs, without real concern for the needs of citizens. That's why I am convinced that on September 29, a new chapter begins for our city, for our Podgorica and everything its citizens. And after that for all of Montenegro," said Milatović.
Candidate for councilor and director of KIC Budo Tomović Aida Batilović said that Rakčević, "a man who together with all of us and the citizens of Podgorica won many battles in the last 12 years, both for Konik, and for Stari Aerodrom and for all others parts of Podgorica, without making any distinction".
"All those years, Luka Rakčević won our political opponents only with a smile, knowledge and arguments. The same as President Jakov Milatović won them in the previous local elections, and then in the presidential one," said Batilović.
Biljana Genić, a former member of the Movement for Change in the Assembly of the Capital City, also spoke at the meeting.
"As someone who has spent his whole life at the Old Airport, I am aware that this settlement is struggling with numerous problems. All these problems can be solved with the right authorities and with the original fighters for a better arrangement of the Capital City. That's why I invite you all to show up on September 29 support to Luka Rakčević and his team for a better Podgorica," said Genić.
