Preokret advocates for the installation of 20 typical public fountains throughout Podgorica, which will meet modern standards and functionality, as well as contribute to the urban identity of the city, announced Snežana Babović, a candidate for councilor on the list "Preokret - Ovako više ne moje - Srđan Perić".
She said that this project will provide free access to drinking water for citizens and tourists, especially important in the summer months when it is necessary to provide easily accessible places for refreshment.
"In this way, the use of bottled water is simultaneously reduced, thus contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and environmental protection," Babović added.
She said that each fountain will be designed with a special focus on aesthetics, practicality and sustainability, ensuring long-term use and easy maintenance.
Special attention, says Babović, will be devoted to ensuring that the fountains are adapted to people with disabilities, as well as pets.
"This project will be realized through a public discussion to ensure that the chosen fountain model is not only functional, but also a recognizable symbol of the city. The design should reflect the identity of Podgorica, taking into account examples from other European cities where public fountains are part of new urban symbols," concludes Babović.
