The Ministry of Public Administration reacted to today's "Vijesti" article under the title: "Budva's legal doubts about the new convening of the Assembly: The session is nevertheless scheduled by Jovanović".
"Regarding the issue related to the convening of the first session of the newly elected assembly that should follow the elections scheduled for November 17, 2024 in the municipality of Budva, we point out that Mr. Nikola Jovanović does not have the authority to convene that session. Namely, Mr. Jovanović performed his legal obligation when he convened the first session of the existing convocation. As the councilors of the existing convocation did not elect the president of the Budva Municipality Assembly, the first session of the newly elected Budva Municipality Assembly after the scheduled November elections will be convened within the time limit prescribed by Article 39 paragraph 4 of the Law on Local Self-Government The Government of Montenegro," he wrote in the response.
