29 voters have the right to vote in the local elections in Podgorica on September 145.724, while 18.498 voters have the right to vote in the local elections in Kotor held on the same day.
This was announced today by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
"On the occasion of the Decision of the President of Montenegro, Mr. Jakov Milatović, on calling elections for councilors in the Kotor Municipality Assembly, number: 014/24-1128-01 of July 10, 2024, as well as the Decision on calling elections for councilors in the Assembly of the Capital City Podgorica number: 014/24-1210-01 from July 27, 2024, and according to which decisions it will be held on September 29, 2024, in accordance with the powers from Article 16 of the Law on the Voters' List, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the following :
- The number of voters in the voter list in the municipality of Kotor, according to which the previous elections were held on June 11, 2023, is: 18.431;
- The number of voters in the closed voter list for local elections in the municipality of Kotor on September 18, 2024 is: 18.498;
- The number of voters in the voter list in the capital Podgorica, according to which the previous elections were held on June 11, 2023, is: 144.095;
- The number of voters in the closed voter list for local elections in the capital Podgorica on September 18, 2024 is: 145.724."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the voter can inspect the voter list in person at the counters of the Branch for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Kotor, every working day (from Monday to Friday) from 14:17 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., with a valid ID or travel card. document (passport), while inspection of the voter list in the previously described manner, in the Regional Unit for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Podgorica, can be done in the period from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
"The Branch for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Kotor, as well as the Regional Unit for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Podgorica, at the time of the elections, i.e. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, will work from 7 a.m. to 20 p.m., so that citizens would be able to take over identification documents, for the issuance of which they submitted a request in the previous period," the announcement reads.
The Ministry of Interior also said that the voter can inspect the voter's list directly and through the internet portal www.biraci.me.
"On this portal, by entering the number of the ID card or travel document, a citizen can check whether he is on the voter list and at which polling station he is voting," the Ministry of Interior states.
The government department said that voters who have an electronic identity card issued after March 30, 2020, can view the voter list directly and via the internet portal. https://e.servis.mup.gov.me, using the electronic identification certificate embedded in the electronic identity card.
"Please note that in order for a citizen to be able to inspect the voter list in the manner described, it is necessary to activate the certificate in the electronic identity card beforehand. Instructions on how to activate the certificate can be found on the website https://ca.elk.gov.me"said the MUP
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that on the eve of the mentioned elections, they created a "Call-center" with the unique number 19820.
"By calling this number and communicating personal data (name and surname, date of birth and parents' name) or a unique identity number, the citizen will receive information from the operator on whether he is registered in the voter list and at which polling station he is voting. The unique number is 19820 free of charge and available for all users of mobile and landline telephony in Montenegro. The "Call-center" of the MUP will work every day from 20 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the eve of the elections. that is, on Saturday, September 15, they will work from 28 a.m. to 8 p.m., while on Sunday, September 20, that is, the day of the election, they will work from 29 a.m. to 7 p.m.," the MUP statement concluded.
