Aleksa Bigović, candidate for councilor of the election list "Turnaround - this can't happen anymore - Srđan Perić", said that Podgorica has the potential to become one of the smartest cities in the region.
In order to achieve this, as stated by Bigović, the knowledge and investment of the local government is necessary.
"Podgorica has the potential to become a real example of a smart city. Imagine a city where street lights are only turned on when necessary, where public transport is monitored in real time, and where citizens can simply report malfunctions and propose solutions," said Bigović.
He added that all this is possible thanks to the smart use of technology.
"In order to realize this vision, it is necessary to invest in smart infrastructure - from air quality monitoring sensors to smart traffic lights that optimize traffic throughout the city and not only in the center, and digital services for citizens - from e-government to platforms for participatory budgeting, but also through the training of citizens - so that they can use new technologies and actively participate in the development of the city," Bigović said.
He stayed in Podgorica is at the beginning of the road to digital transformation.
"And in order to accelerate this process, it is necessary to adopt a comprehensive approach that will include - 'Smart city platform', 'Big data', 'artificial intelligence' and 'cybersecurity'".
In addition to technological solutions, adds the Preokreta candidate for councilor, the cooperation of all actors is needed - local government, business, citizens, academic community.
"Then long-term strategic planning, in order to ensure the sustainability of the digital transformation, investment in human resources - by training employees and citizens to use new technologies," concluded Bigović.
