Dušan Ceković, the candidate for councilor of the coalition "For a better Podgorica" in the upcoming elections in Podgorica, announced the start of the construction of the eastern tribune of the Pod Gorica stadium and solving the parking issue in the city center as two key projects that will improve the sports, cultural and infrastructural capacities of the capital.
"These are projects that are completely ready and for which there are almost no unresolved property-legal issues. At the beginning of next year, we will start the construction of the eastern stand of the Pod Gorica stadium, in two phases - the underground garage and the stand itself. Podgorica deserves a modern stadium that will serve not only for sports events, but also as a multifunctional space that will improve the quality of life of our citizens," said Ceković.
He pointed out that the new eastern tribune, with a capacity of 6.100 seats, will significantly improve the infrastructure of the stadium, and that additional facilities, such as business premises, conference rooms, warehouses and a press area on an area of 5.194 square meters, will bring financial benefits to the city and help cover stadium maintenance costs.
"After the reconstruction of the dilapidated field in 2014, we will now complete the Pod Goricom stadium as the most modern sports facility in Montenegro. This investment comes at the right time, on the eve of the centenary of FC Budućnost, and brings us not only sporting benefits, but also new business opportunities for the city. ", Ceković said.
In addition, he emphasized the importance of building an underground garage under the eastern stand, which will have 466 parking spaces, which would solve the problem of lack of parking space in the center of Podgorica. That garage, together with the future parking lot under Božena Vučinić Square, as Ceković said, will provide the necessary capacity for the planned closure of the city center to traffic.
"The parking lot under the eastern stand will be used outside of sports events, which will solve the parking problem in the central area of the city in the long term. This is a concrete step towards the modernization of traffic and the creation of pedestrian zones in the center of Podgorica, which is a key part of our vision for the development of the city," he said. Ceković.
