Stevan Perović, candidate for councilor from the list "Dr. Vuk Kadić - Move Forward - For Podgorica and his family", said that excessive promises made by parties in the pre-election campaign represent irresponsibility towards citizens.
"There are only five days left for the campaign and seven days until the polling stations close in Podgorica. Some will say that the best promises are yet to come and that we are still waiting for the surprises that the politicians are preparing for us at the end. Will anyone surpass the promise of 1.000 apartments euros per square meter for 40.000 people remains to be seen. The campaign for the local elections in the capital has been carried out in the spirit of mutual attacks by political rivals and unrealistic promises that have neither financial nor professional basis," Perović said.
He added that citizens are witnessing that infrastructure projects are promised without clear plans and analysis, and that state resources and positions in government are used to win votes.
"In the 21st century, the citizens of Podgorica are promised basic infrastructure such as water and sewage, which clearly indicates the failure and incompetence of those who have led the city in the last 30 years. If the city authorities were doing their job properly, these issues would have been resolved long ago , and all citizens would have access to the water and sewage network. It is enough to remind that Rome had an organized infrastructure more than a thousand years ago, while the citizens of Podgorica are promised something that should have been standard long ago".
Perović also states that excessive and unrealistic promises are not a responsible attitude towards citizens.
"For this reason, Pokret Naprijed decided to run a positive and responsible campaign, which is focused on solving the concrete and real problems of all of us. Instead of empty promises, we offer concrete solutions based on real possibilities and clear plans. We invite citizens to turn to the future that is based on responsibility and work, not on populism and empty words. Our goal is the progress of Podgorica, through realistic and achievable projects that will improve the quality of life of all its residents," said Perović.
