Kandić: I convinced myself and reported to the prosecutor's office that my signature was forged by a list led by Jakov Milatović

Immediately after learning about the possible abuse that I had previously informed the media about, I submitted a request to the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) for inspection of the election material and convinced myself of the truth of my claims that my signature was forged, and that my birth certificate number and identity card number were misused by of the electoral list led by Jakov Milatović, said Stevan Kandic, a candidate for councilor of the Europe Now Movement (PES).

In a statement sent to the media, he added that he has already turned to the prosecutor's office, although he knows that it will have no consequences, as he says that colleagues from the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) have been warning for years.

"This case, like hundreds of similar cases in the course of earlier election processes, will see its end not through clarification, but through the statute of limitations. This is why I am addressing the media once again, because I think that the best way to put an end to such abuses is through name and shame' approach, i.e. name and shame", said Kandić.

In addition to the abuse, he pointed out that he was very disappointed by the behavior of MP Jevrosima Pejović, who is a candidate on the list who, as he claims, forged his signature, and who commented on his case during the session of the Parliament of Montenegro.

"Deputy Pejović had the courage, not knowing me personally, to insinuate that something was offered to me to be on Saša Mujović's list, and she also wondered what the price of my political dignity was. It was easy to call me names during the session, which is shown live on TV, knowing that I cannot answer because I have no right to be in the plenary hall.

This kind of rhetoric on the part of MP Pejović is very malicious, especially considering that my rights and the security of my data have been misused.

If MP Pejović did not know about this illegal act of her colleagues from the list, I expect a public apology and condemnation of their behavior. If, on the other hand, she knew about these abuses, then it is another proof of the hypocrisy of the people from the coalition led by President Milatović," Kandić concluded.
