The President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović said that the letter sent to him by the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Brigadier General Zoran Lazarević, was not published anywhere and that it is not normal for the Minister of Defense and the media to deal with the contents of the letter.
During today's press conference of the "Za bolju Podgorica - Jakov Milatović" list, he answered a question from "Vijesti", which reminded Milatović that in an interview with "Dan", published on Saturday, he said that he had spoken with Lazarević, who previously asked him to support his dismissal, and asked what the conclusion of that meeting was and whether he decided to support his dismissal.
"Neither Spajić nor Đukanović denied intensive communication"
Milatović, when asked by "Vijesti" when he will present evidence to the public about how, as he claims, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić agreed with the DPS to adopt the "crypto law", said that Spajić did not deny the agreement with the DPS and that he did not deny the intense communication, neither he, nor Đukanović.
"I brought it up, because it is important for citizens to know," he said.
Milatović did not answer whether he would present evidence.
"My silence would be abuse"
Milatović, responding to a journalist's question whether he too misuses resources by telling citizens who to vote for as president, said that he only now sees "what the executive power and its elite are ready for" and that his silence would be a misuse because as he says, the citizens elected him to put an end to bad practices and that he is accountable to the citizens, "unlike some who are accountable to groups in Montenegro and outside".
When asked by a journalist if he is in the official campaign, given that it is working time, Milatović said that he is protecting the dignity of citizens.
Asked if he is in the official campaign, considering that it is working time, he said that he is protecting the dignity of citizens.
Responding to the RTCG journalist's question whether it was a campaign to shoot a video in the President's building, Milatović asked her if she had watched the video, to which she replied that she had not.
The head of state accused the journalist that the director of the Public Service, Boris Raonic, had written a question for her to ask.
He said that they did not fight for it and that it was not for the director to write the question.
"Today, I recorded a video where I invite every citizen to vote for those they consider to be the best - not for Jakov Milatović," he said.
"As long as I preside over the Council, order and rules will be respected"
Answering a journalist's question, Milatović said that he did not agree with the dismissal of Lazarević, and that Defense Minister Dragan Krapović was not the president of the country.
He called that case politicization of the Army.
"As long as I preside over the Council, order and rules will be respected".
He said that the Council for Defense and Security was held ten days ago, and that he could not convene a session for half a year.
Milatović said that there is no consensus about the next first man of the General Staff, and he should replace the current one. He pointed out that the age is given, and Lazarevic is 55 years old.
Note: In the original version of the text, it was written that Milatović said that Lazarević did not ask the president of the country to support his dismissal in the letter he sent to him. We apologize to the readers and to Milatović.
