Montenegro is dedicated to the values and goals of the United Nations (UN), it was announced during the meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović, with the Undersecretary for Political Affairs and UN Peacekeeping Operations, Rozmari Di Karlo.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP) announced that, on the sidelines of the first day of participation in the UN General Assembly, Ibrahimović had a series of bilateral meetings and participated in a ministerial event on artificial intelligence, hosted by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
"The meeting with Di Carlo was an opportunity to point out the commitment to multilateralism and Montenegro's commitment to the values and goals of the UN," the statement said.

As stated by Ibrahimović, Montenegro has defined the strengthening of its role on the multilateral level as one of the four pillars of foreign policy.
He said that the Government is dedicated to achieving the goals of sustainable development, in which significant support is provided by the UN agencies in Montenegro.
"Ibrahimović also discussed current regional issues with Di Carlo, and Montenegro's contribution to peacekeeping missions and the affirmation of UN values was also pointed out," the statement said.
Ibrahimović, at the meeting with OSCE Secretary General Kate Feron, said that Montenegro expresses strong support for the work of the OSCE and highly appreciates the contribution of the Mission in Montenegro to the reform processes, which are significant both for further institutional development and in the context of the European Union. agendas of the state.

He pointed out that in the current geopolitical circumstances, the role of the OSCE, as well as the strengthening of multilateralism, are particularly significant.
"With the assessment that Montenegro is a reliable partner, the interlocutors agreed that in order to fulfill the mandate of the OSCE, it is necessary for all participating countries to show commitment, understanding and political will," the announcement states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ibrahimovic met with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti today in New York, with whom he signed an agreement on the establishment of a political consultation mechanism.
This, as stated by the government department, is an important step forward towards more dynamic bilateral contacts and regular consultations on issues of mutual interest.
"It was assessed that the signing of the agreements represents an incentive for the further development of interstate relations and that there are numerous potentials for closer cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism, renewable energy sources, culture and education," the announcement says.
It is stated that at the meeting it was emphasized that, in addition to bilateral contacts, Montenegro and Tunisia cooperate within the Union for the Mediterranean, as well as on a multilateral level.
The interlocutors pointed out that this is an additional incentive for intensifying cooperation on the bilateral level.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that, in the conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Ivan Kondov, very good bilateral relations and cooperation were pointed out in the context of Montenegro's approach to membership in the European Union (EU).

Ibrahimović said that Montenegro is well on its way to becoming the next EU member and that the support of friendly countries at the expert and political level is very important.
"Our goal is to implement the necessary reforms as soon as possible, and I believe that with the results so far, we have shown determination, commitment, and readiness," said Ibrahimović.
Kondov pointed out that Bulgaria is a friend of Montenegro.
He emphasized that Montenegro, as a leader in the integration process, can count on continued strong support on the way to the EU.
