The Party of European Progress (SEP) announced today that the fact that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) announced the closure of numerous streets and boulevards in Podgorica represents an unprecedented demonstration of force.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced yesterday that several streets in Podgorica will be closed today from 16:19 to XNUMX:XNUMX, due to a technical-tactical presentation on the occasion of Internal Affairs Day.
"The Ministry of the Interior announced the closure of numerous streets and boulevards in Podgorica to traffic. This unprecedented demonstration of force, scheduled three days before the elections, a week before the Day of the Interior on October 2, clearly shows the true character of the government, which instead of democratic processes resorts to police performances. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not find it appropriate to respect the citizens of Podgorica, but intentionally introduces them into traffic chaos, closing key boulevards during the period when people are returning home from work," the SEP statement, headed by former Prime Minister Duško Marković, points out.
From that party, they added that such events are nothing more than disturbing citizens in their daily activities and diverting attention from real problems - the catastrophic traffic situation, economic difficulties and lack of vision for the future of the capital.
"The organization of a technical-tactical demonstration of police force immediately before the elections is a transparent attempt to manipulate and gain cheap political points, while citizens suffer crowds and blockades. We call on the MUP to stop these inappropriate political games and to focus on the real problems of citizens, instead of using state resources for political promotion. Podgorica does not need tanks and street blockades - it needs order, law and responsible government," the SEP statement says.
Ini stated that the citizens of Podgorica deserve a city without blockades and chaos, where decisions are made in their favor and not for political performances.
