Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović believes that the "Za bolja Podgorica Jakov Milatović" list will be victorious.
Milatović told reporters in Podgorica today after voting.
He said that today he is here as the president of the state, but also as the holder of one of the papers, which has its own candidate for mayor, Luka Rakčević.
"I believe that it will be a winning list and that from tomorrow we will have a new elan for a better Podgorica, which will develop much faster to the benefit of everyone who lives in Podgorica," Milatović assessed.
Commenting on the campaign, Milatović said that it was mostly characterized by the misuse of state resources.
"First of all, I am thinking of the executive power. I believe that this should not have been the case. There are numerous examples of misuse of state resources by high-ranking executives," said Milatović.
He called on the authorities and the civil sector to indiscriminately approach solving the problem "so that we can have an even better next election cycle".
Speaking about the lower turnout, Milatović said that it is part of the democratic process.
"For this reason, last week I called on citizens to go to the polls and exercise their right. I believe that today we live in a truly democratic country that is on its way to becoming, in a democratic sense, more mature," said Milatović.
Asked about potential partners for the formation of the government, Milatović said that Rakčević had already talked about it during the pre-election campaign.
