The holder of the list of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the elections in Podgorica, Nermin Abdić, said that they are by far the strongest party in the capital.

"DPS won 50 percent more votes than the next list," Abdić said at a press conference at the party's headquarters, announcing that DPS will be the headquarters of the next local administration.

"The government fell tonight, we call on Milojko Spajić to resign in the morning. It's time to return the DPS to power," said Živković.

"Neither election tourists nor the power of the repressive apparatus helped, the opposition will be in power for the next four years in Podgorica," he added.

He believes that the government at the state level has completely lost its legitimacy. "We are not a political entity that talks about exclusivity, we are open to conversations that we will lead," he said.

"We raised the issue of electoral tourism, when we met the competent authorities, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office reacted. We will only open the issue, at the parliamentary committee for electoral reform, the citizens of Montenegro will decide on its fate", said Živković.

Abdić addressed the crowd in front of the DPS premises and told them to celebrate the victory with dignity, as well as that "as long as it's tomorrow, they have to roll up their sleeves and start working".

DPS did not answer the question of whether they will form a post-election coalition with Jakov Milatović's list.
