Vuk Kadić, the leader of the Naprijed Movement list, submitted 15 complaints to the State Election Commission (SEC) today due to alleged irregularities in the elections held seven days ago in Podgorica, "Vijesti" has learned unofficially.
He did so after the Election Commission of the Capital rejected his objections on Wednesday.
"Vijesti" learned unofficially that the SEC will decide on Kadić's objections tomorrow.
"After the Election Commission of the Capital city rejected all our objections without any basis, we turned to a higher instance with the aim of obtaining the rights that were denied to us in this process. We emphasize again that we are not and will never be part of any electoral engineering, for which individuals accused us, and who have been applying the same for decades," said the Forward Movement.
They said that they expect the members of the SEC to behave responsibly and professionally according to their requests, "and that they will not put party interests ahead of the truth and the right of everyone to participate in a fair and honest election process."
Kadić asked the city commission to cancel the election and repeat voting at 14 polling stations, where 10.482 voters were registered.
Seven days ago, according to preliminary election results, 5.979 citizens with the right to vote voted at those polling stations.
The alleged irregularities referred to by Kadić concern the mismatch between the number of ballots and the number of control coupons, and one related to voting in Doljani, for which an extract from the voter's list has disappeared.
The "Forward" movement was about 200 votes short of passing the census.
If the SEC also rejects Kadić's objections, he can appeal to the Constitutional Court. If the SEC accepts his objections, the elections will be repeated.
