The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will insist that the damage caused to the inhabitants of Šavnik be compensated as soon as possible, said the MP of that party, Aleksandra Despostović.
At the press conference, she said that "the current government is doing everything in its power against its citizens."
"There is a lot of evidence, and the most recent is the scandalous behavior of the executive authorities towards the residents of Šavnik, who suffered great damage due to floods," said Despotović.
She said that for three days the members of the largest government watched as the village in Šavnik was "sinking", that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić tweeted about irrelevant topics and that no one spoke up or sent help to Šavnik.
“Why? Well, it is clear, because they perceive Šavnik as an enemy municipality, because it is headed by Jugoslav Jakić, who is a member of the DPS", said Despotović.
She praised the efforts of the local self-government, which, as she said, was left to fight the natural disaster alone.
"Fortunately, the local governments of Bijelo Polje and Bar, private companies, responsible individuals came to the aid and brought the situation under control," said Despotović.
According to her, this is unprecedented irresponsibility of a government towards the population and, unfortunately, it is not the first or the only one.
Despotović added that the livestock fund of Montenegro is being destroyed, people are getting sick, and the virus has been raging for months.
"The question arises, what is the purpose of such a government. To satisfy the political appetites of his constituents, because that's the only thing he does successfully," said Despotović.
According to her, the irresponsible government has to go, because it has no empathy or feeling for its population.
"Because their inaction is just as dangerous as their doing, it is not the Government, but an interest group of people who differ in everything, and share only one common goal - to sit in ministerial chairs for as long as possible", said Despotović.
