Croatia will continue to provide support to the Croatian community in Montenegro, especially in connection with the preservation of their rights and cultural heritage, announced the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.
The Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) announced that Milanović met today with representatives of the Croatian community in Montenegro.
"In the House of Culture Josip Marković in Donja Lastva, the president of the Croatian National Council of Montenegro, Zvonimir Deković, the president of the Croatian Civic Initiative, Adrijan Vuksanović, as well as the presidents of the Croatian associations in Boka Kotorska, attended the meeting," the announcement states.
HGI said that Milanović was interested in political and social conditions, as well as the position of Croats in Montenegro.
After the meeting, Vuksanović expressed his satisfaction with Croatia's comprehensive, fundamental and institutional support for Croats in Montenegro.
"He thanked President Milanović for that, as he did a year ago, before the Parliamentary elections, when he invited members of the Croatian national community to vote for the Croatian Citizens' Initiative," the HGI press release says.
Vuksanović said that it makes him proud and happy that the support of HGI comes from both the left and the right of the political spectrum in Croatia.
"With optimism, together with the Republic of Croatia, we are continuing our mission of preserving the Croatian identity in Montenegro and strengthening the state subjectivity of Montenegro. This is our main direction and the integrative policy that we advocated and advocate is clearly producing results that we are proud of and joy," said Vuksanović after the meeting.
