Montenegro should not teach Croatia lessons about Jasenovac, Croatian President Zoran Milanović announced.
He said this at a press conference as part of the Brdo-Brioni Process Summit, answering the question of a "Vijesti" journalist whether he considers the behavior of certain ministers in the Croatian government and the messages they send to Montenegro to be smart.
"This episode is perhaps a good example of how one should not meddle in some topics, which are primarily Croatian internal topics, and the same goes for the other side. I don't know what the Montenegrin parliament, that thin majority, which we know how it was created, needed. It's an ordinary thin majority, in which half of those who raised their hands for it are actually against it," Milanović said.
He said that he sees that in the Montenegrin parliament, 60 deputies interpret the issue of Jasenovac in a rational way.
"We should let others live, give them breath to live..." he added.
Milanović said that Croatia is a follower of anti-fascism, not the Independent State of Croatia.
On June 28, the Montenegrin Parliament adopted the Resolution on Genocide in the Jasenovac, Dachau and Mauthausen camp system.
