Entering the political race without financial backing and party infrastructure, a "revolutionary idea" that has yet to take root, that is, the harmful policies of others, are some of the ways that lists that did not achieve parliamentary status in the recently held local elections in Podgorica interpret such an outcome.
Answering the question of whether they did an analysis of the election results, the Montenegrin Civic Action (CGA) said that, according to their conclusion, the winners of the election were abstainers.
"In the 2022 elections in Podgorica, 13 percent more people turned out than in the last elections. Therefore, distrust in known policies is growing because solutions for getting out of the crisis are not recognized. This actually shows that all current policies are losing support, trust, and ultimately - the meaning of their existence," the party said, adding that "those policies that are able to register clear messages of abstainers, in addition to the large number of those who voted, do not live in Montenegro, they have a long-term idea and plan on how to recover society and the country as a whole".
On the other hand, the Tenant Movement stated that, as far as they were concerned, "they did their best and tried to influence fellow citizens to take the initiative and take concrete steps to protect social justice."
"Extremely low turnout, but also the won 0,3 percent in a city which, among other things, is recognizable by the huge number of tenants in itself clearly says that there were no such steps from the other side," said this group of citizens.
They are not satisfied with the election result in the only minority party that the citizens of the capital could vote for on the ballot.
"The Bosniak Party (BS), as a serious political entity, is analyzing the results of the elections held on September 29 with special care. Despite the enormous pressure that our members and supporters were exposed to, we believe that the result in Podgorica had to be better", announced "Vijesta".
The CGA believes that "those policies that harm institutions and society" should be held responsible, not someone from their ranks.
"People who decided to support a political initiative without interest are brave people who expect nothing but the common good and they do not register the culprit in their ideas, but in the phenomena that eat away at our society. On the other hand, political subjects and individuals who engage in interest politics should bear responsibility and be punished by institutions and the state", they said and added that their idea has yet to take off, because "revolutionary ideas need time".
Even in the Tenant Movement, they do not believe that any of them should take responsibility because "they gave their best without any financial backing or party infrastructure."
"Responsibility has been essentially delegitimized. After all, for the past three decades, political responsibility does not exist in Montenegro. What is much more worrying is the lack of desire of the citizens of Podgorica to take matters into their own hands, and change the atmosphere that is completely favorable to political corporations, while fellow citizens are out of range of their radars", they told the newspaper.
BS did not give a direct answer to this question.
"Our 955 votes, which resisted all the pressure exerted on them in the last few months, especially at the end of the campaign in Podgorica, are our strength and our incentive, and a clear sign that this party has solid foundations and insurmountable ramparts on which it will continue to it builds Podgorica and Montenegro for all of us, as well as the values we stand for," the largest minority party told "Vijesta".
When it comes to further plans, they pointed out that "they will work even more dedicatedly and decisively, harmoniously and sincerely, in the coming period, so that every future election result will be better".
The CGA also announces the continuation of its activities, and claims that its plans have only just begun.
"This is the beginning of further work and giving wings to an idea that will have to come to life if we plan to enter the European Union. What is currently happening and what will happen in Podgorica, but also in Montenegro, is an irresponsible attitude towards the capital city and the state", they believe.
According to them, the problems in Montenegrin society stem from the fact that none of the political subjects have clearly defined rules on which to base future cooperation with someone or a plan to get out of the current crisis.
"For a long time, we were in a period when things were done unprincipledly and when the principles were such that they could be easily manipulated. There is no manipulation with the idea of CGA and this idea is doomed to success, it's just a matter of time and the city in which it will take root. Definitely fast in one of the cities, in our only country in the world, Montenegro!", they pointed out.
Answering the question about future activities, the Tenant Movement reminded that they are a group of citizens, not a political entity or party, and that they cannot predict the next steps.
From the Podgorica list Andrej Milović and Montenegrin European Party (CEP) Novak Adžić they did not respond to "News".
On the other hand, the questions were not addressed to the "Forward" Movement, because the epilogue of their complaints about irregularities at several polling stations is still unknown. After they were rejected by the Municipal Election Commission and the State Election Commission, the political entity that led the elections in Podgorica Vuk Kadic has the right to refer them to the Constitutional Court.
According to the preliminary election results, DPS won 19 mandates in the city parliament, PES and Democrats 14, "For the future of Podgorica" 13, "For a better Podgorica" six, the European Union three, and Preokret and SEP two each.
Six lists remained below the census - the "Forward" movement (2,75 percent or 2.233 votes), the Podgorica list (0,63 percent or 515 votes), the CEP (0,71 percent or 573 votes), the Subtenant Movement (0,28 percent or 226 votes), CGA (0,21 percent or 174 votes) and BS (1,17 percent or 953 votes).
