An important message of strong support for Ukraine in its fight for freedom and the right to choose was sent from the Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit in Dubrovnik, said the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.

Milatović, at the invitation of the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, is participating in the Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit.

He reminded that today, on behalf of Montenegro, he is attending the third Summit of leaders of Southeast Europe and Ukraine.

"The first was in Athens, the second in Tirana, and the third is happening today, in Dubrovnik. By adopting the Declaration from the Summit, we once again sent an important message of strong support to Ukraine in its fight for freedom and the right to choose," said Milatović.

He said that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Montenegro has supported the freedom of that country and its right to choose.

"We have gathered around this as the leaders of Southeast Europe in order to once again support Ukraine in everything that is happening," said Milatović.

He pointed out that, unfortunately, Ukraine is now entering the thousandth day of a war that has already claimed many innocent lives, and that has almost devastated the Ukrainian economy.

"And that's why another important message I sent is that there should be peace in Ukraine as soon as possible and a situation where Ukraine will have its right to choose, its right to a European and Euro-Atlantic future," said Milatović.

In addition to his presentation at the plenary session on the topic of support for Ukraine, he had several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
