The leader of the Budva committee of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Mladen Mikijelj, asked how it was possible that someone from Podgorica, and not them, was to blame for the fact that there was no water in Budva this summer, that it was covered with garbage, and that the city was flooded in hundreds of wild locations. whose responsibility it is.
"It is obvious to everyone that for months, a negative campaign has been conducted against me from well-known addresses, but also from some new centers of power, due to unbridled youthful political ambition. Related to that, sometimes, unfortunately, you have to fight in your ranks to free the city from autocracy and lack of ideas. It is as if on purpose, precisely because of the lack of adequate answers and ideas, the focus in political life in Budva is exclusively aimed at describing the lowest layers from our environment. I suggest that we talk a little more about what exactly are the topics of the elections and the tasks of those who participate in them", emphasized Mikijelj.
Through his family, upbringing and political environment, as he said, he was formed as a person whose dignity and morality go together with the desire for political victory.
"Because of all that, it doesn't occur to me either now or in the future to be a participant in a reality program in which some actors of the political arena in Budva swim fantastically. Let's pay attention, as loudly and without evidence, with constant subterfuge, talk about some kind of crime, the silence is even louder these days about corruption and bribery. Why are corruption and bribery put on the back burner, and every change of that topic is filled with invented accusations, insults and vocabulary unworthy of the city in which we live. For us, it is unexpected, premeditated and unacceptable that all politicians in the local campaign talk only about major crime, a vocabulary of insults and baseless accusations, and do not say a single sentence about the projects they are implementing or about those they want to do in the future", Mikijelj said. .
According to him, the absence of principles and a political program is an ugly reality in Budva.
"How can someone be a participant in the election without essentially having neither a program nor principles. Such a situation, which, unfortunately, is the general situation in Budva, has for some time in practice meant that the struggle for bare power is the only principle. How is it that they deliberately avoid talking about the lack of parking spaces, the water shortage that has hit us for the first time in almost 15 years, the general condition of the schools in Budva that needs to be repaired, the complete collapse in the maintenance of cleanliness in the municipality, the construction of promenades and other large projects and so on. The topics that interest me are topics that will make us live better and better every day, and not topics that, unfortunately, are bare, creepy populism," he stated.
As he adds, his goal is to discuss "responsibility and consequences for what we do", because this is a topic that is avoided by subverting sensationalism as the only level of conversation.
"How is it that someone from Podgorica was responsible for the fact that we did not have water in Budva, that municipal waste defeated the city services, and that hundreds of wild sites flooded the city, thereby endangering the work of many businessmen, and they bear no responsibility at all those whose business it is. Shifting the blame and diverting attention is, for me personally, a characteristic of the weak and that is not the way I will work. We fought against the autocracy and dictatorship of one man with the strongest political enemy and defeated him on August 30. It never occurs to us to allow one big dictator to be replaced by another small one, even if it means splitting the board or other similar problems. "Freedom and the daily improvement of the situation in society have been, since the foundation, the basic goals of our activities, and anyone who does not have that in focus somehow does not belong to the team that I lead," he emphasized.
"We have to ask ourselves", as he emphasizes, how someone who "destroyed the future of the entire society and built companies through proven robbery can now constantly get his hands on building the future of us and our children".
"What I can promise for sure is that, just as we defeated the remnants of the corrupt system in the Port of Budva, on the ferries, on the beaches in Herceg Novi in Morski Dobr, the same will be the case in Budva as well. Crime and corruption cannot be defeated by cooperation with the bearers of corruption. Why should those who said 'no' to the future of our children be allowed to be part of the municipal program of building the future for all of us. After the victory over DPS, the time comes when our most important task must be that the citizens are satisfied, that my team and I help them, and that their needs are met. The party I belong to as my goal has always had a positive attitude and a better future. We believe that the team comes before the individual and that the time has passed when personal interest comes before civic interest. "I am deeply convinced that the level and style of management of the city of Budva has recently been lowered below the level it deserves, with the intention that, rolling in the mud, those for whom mud is their natural environment will win," Mikijelj points out.
Anyone, as he says, who is in any way connected with crime has no place "neither with us nor next to us", because "with us, honor and honesty come before everything else and everyone who knows us knows that."
"If anyone intends to have an illegal influence, especially, as is currently being done in the Municipality, in favor of illegal construction, setting up illegal locations, abusing the resources of the Municipality of Budva, then they are not automatically our member and activist. I invite everyone to connect my name, personal and family, if they have evidence, to any illegal actions, in the past or now, and otherwise to stop the subterfuge and to direct all our knowledge and abilities towards building positive energy and atmosphere. Budva is a city of the future, which also means that it is a city of decent, hardworking and smart people who deserve to hear in the political campaign only a vocabulary and attitude that is dignified and fair, that respects others, presenting its own program", concluded Mikijelj.
