If my political party had so much political strength that it had 41 deputies in the Parliament of Montenegro and if it formed the executive power, it would immediately cancel the decision on the recognition of the state of Kosovo, said Milun Zogović, Vice President of the Government of Montenegro for Infrastructure and Regional Development and member of the Democratic People's Party (DNP).
Zogović said this last night in the show Sunday in the rearview mirror on Television Vijesti.
The Minister of Economic Development and the leader of the Albanian Alternative (AA), Nik Đeljošaj, said that the Democratic Front (DF) recognized Kosovo by entering the Government.
DNP was a member of the former DF, and now it is part of the coalition For the Future of Montenegro.
"They can feel whatever they want, lie to themselves and their voters, but the DF recognized Kosovo as an independent state by joining the Government of Montenegro, as is recognized by the government and the state of Montenegro. Statements that mean nothing at all de jure or de facto and justifications (lies) to voters are part of DF folklore, and the decision of the state of Montenegro regarding the status of Kosovo is irreversible," Đeljošaj pointed out in a statement provided by AA.
He added that "if the DF does not recognize Kosovo, they can leave the Government, because the Government of Montenegro recognizes the independence of Kosovo, and while sitting in the Government of Montenegro, de jure and de facto, they also recognize the independence of Kosovo".
"Whether DF declaratively supports something or not is absolutely irrelevant, because you decide absolutely nothing about these things and have no influence," Đeljošaj said.
