The results of the population census published today showed, first of all, that civic Montenegro defended itself and that no pressure, no campaigns, no influences from outside can erase what is an essential characteristic of Montenegrin society - the nurturing of diversity, announced the deputy of the Social Democrats of Montenegro. Gore (SD) and European Union official Nikola Zirojević.
"Regardless of the fact that in the previous four years ethnic engineering has been tried in every way in Montenegro, regardless of the fact that numerous centers of power inside and outside of Montenegro are trying to reduce the number of national Montenegrins and those who speak the Montenegrin language, this plan has not succeeded Zirojevic said.
He also states that "a strong message was sent that Montenegrin society is above all civil, but also that Montenegrin national identity is resistant to all attempts to collapse it".
"On the other hand, fundamentally much more important data must activate a serious alarm and worry all of us, regardless of how we feel nationally, religiously or politically. As many as 9 Montenegrin municipalities are in a deep demographic age. We must all seriously deal with this data together, how we would prevent a part of Montenegro from relaxing in the time ahead," concluded Zirojević.
