MP of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) Slađana Kaluđerović said that she hopes that Zeta, in agreement with the Metropolitanate of Montenegrin and Littoral Serbian Orthodox Church, will "soon have the honor" of building a memorial to the former Metropolitan of Montenegrin and Littoral Amfilohi.
Last night, a literary evening dedicated to the work of Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić was held in the "Zeta" Cultural and Information Center, and the gathering was attended by Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral with the clergy, President of the Municipality of Zeta Mihailo Asanović, Ambassador of Serbia Nebojša Rodić, and SNP MPs Slađana Kaluđerović and Bogdan Božović.
"Deputy Kaluđerović, while greeting everyone present, expressed her special satisfaction with the presence of Metropolitan Joaniki, stressing that Zeta is honored and looking forward to his presence, and expressed her hope that Zeta, in agreement with the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral, 'will soon have honor to build a memorial to the blessed Metropolitan Amfilohi,'" KIC "Zeta" announced.
Last month, the government gave consent to the Municipality of Berane to erect a monument to Amfilohi, who died in 2020.
In the press release, it is written that Joanikije spoke about the life path and poetics of Andrić, on the topic of "Creative turmoil of Ivo Andrić".
The director of KIC "Zeta" Branko Noković, as reported, said that Zeta "is the root of today's Montenegro": "We have no intention of changing anything from our history. We are proud of it, it is as sacred to us as holy and our church, and we are here to testify to that always and in every place".
