Democratic Montenegro announced that Branislav Nenezić, an official of the Social Democrats (SD) and the European Union, "obviously got sick from cleaning the voter lists."
The Democrats reacted to Nenezić's statement, who said that the statement by the Minister of the Interior, Danilo Saranović, in which, based on the results of the census, he announces the revision of the voter list, "has no contact with reality."
From that party, they also stated that "phantom voters" were registered by the SD in the voter list while the representatives of the three-decade brutal system were at the head of the MUP.
"Thus, we have over 540 voters on the voter list, and according to the results of the 2023 census, Montenegro has 489 adults. As an expert in this field, you must explain to us what you did and how many elections you won at the expense of phantom voters. ", the announcement reads.
The Democrats also stated that SD official and former Minister of the Interior Ivan Brajović said "that the Government will not deny anyone the right to vote", and that there were "over 14.000 duplicates and at least 6.000 deceased" in that voter list.
"You talk about breaking the law, and it is your party that is the champion in trampling the legal order of the state of Montenegro. Minister Šaranović states in his statement that cooperation will take place in accordance with the law and international standards, and if such a thing requires a change in the law, in cooperation with the European Commission, the same will be realized. Of course, for SD members, as proven 'legalists', these are Spanish villages," the announcement reads.
Among other things, the Democrats stated that Nenezić "as a professor of physical education very quickly became an expert on the voter list."
