DPS Kotor: MEC to make a decision on repeating the elections in Prčanje and Mirac as soon as possible

After today's position of the Constitutional Court, we call on the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) to make a decision on repeating the elections in Prčanje and Mirac as soon as possible, announced the Municipal Board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Kotor.

"Because, after today's session of the Constitutional Court, at which no decision was made to accept the appeals of the Democrats, the only relevant decision is precisely the Decision of the State Election Commission, which remains in force, and which orders a repeat of the elections in Prčanje and Mirac. We complied with all legal procedures, waited and that our opponents use every legal mechanism at their disposal, but - for the sake of the city, for the sake of the people of Kotor and the people of Kotor - we must no longer allow the electoral process to be slowed down, which prolongs the general blockade," the announcement states.

They said that, a month after the originally held elections, it was time for that process to finally end.

"That's why we call on the political entities that have been obstructing the processes that would lead to the announcement of the final results for weeks to stop doing so. We do not want to believe that the Kotor Municipal Council will persist in lawlessness and serving those who are fighting with all their might so that the elections are not completed. However, if they continue on that path, as we have pointed out before, criminal charges await them on several grounds," the statement concludes.
