Božo Premović was elected president of the Municipality of Berane, TV News has learned.
The Board of Commissioners of the Municipality of Berane today elected the new President of the Municipality between two candidates: Vuksan Milošević from the Evropa Sad Movement and Bož Premović from the Democrats.
Premović was elected by the votes of five out of six members of the Board of Trustees. The board of commissioners did not want to comment on the claims of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) about the legitimacy of the election of the president of the Municipality of Berana.
More chances were given to Milošević, who was the acting secretary of the Secretariat for Housing and Communal Affairs of the Municipality of Berane until June, when he was not selected in the competition for a full-term secretary, because there was no president of the Municipality to appoint him.
Premović is the secretary of the Secretariat for Agriculture, Tourism and Water Management.
On October 4, the government introduced forced administration in Berane and appointed a Board of Commissioners, since that municipality has not had a president for four months, because the rotation in that place between the New Serbian Democracy and the Democrats failed.
Because of the whole situation, the employees of some municipal companies suffer, who do not receive salaries because they spent the budget, and no rebalancing was brought. The situation should be resolved in the extraordinary local elections on December 8.
"I hope that we will try to correct all these mistakes for which we have been trotting for a few months in this short period, and that the people will give their final verdict very soon in the elections, of course it will continue with the new administration," Premović told TV News.
Vidoje Rmuš, head of Beran's SNP, said that certain people from the Government, who first let the Municipality be deprived of its powers for three months, continue to be indifferent.
"After President Milatović scheduled the elections for December 8, they suddenly sent trustees to Berane to elect a politically colored person today who will lead the town in the month and a half until the election. They elected the president of the municipal board. The second thing that stands out I noticed that the meeting started at 11 and ended 3-4 hours later. According to some information we had earlier, three members of the board were for Mr. Milošević. I am interested in what has changed for that couple hours. Were you waiting for a directive from Podgorica?" Rmuš told TV Vijesti.
The President of the Municipal Board (MO) of DPS Berane asked "what will the elections do for us if we have to elect the President of the Municipality like this?"
"Secondly, I would like to see what the criteria are for who nominated the president, because according to our law, the president must be nominated by 13 councilors, one third of the councilors. Next, what happened? They went with one guy, they chose another. I don't know, this can only happen from this group of Democrats who are advocating some new, ridiculous trends in politics. To tell you the truth, this is not serious," Nedic told TV Vijesti.
Premović said that he has no political background, and time will tell when it comes to him.
"Every citizen will be treated equally, at least during this period while I am at the head of this institution, so there is no fear not for the SNP party, but for all other parties that think that something will change, that they will bring something new on their own my candidacy and only my appointment at the head of the municipality", said Premović to TV Vijesti.
