The Bosniak Party (BS) remains strongly committed to EU reforms and will be part of all activities in Montenegro that make Montenegro a state of equality, rule of law, social justice and lead it to full membership in the European Union (EU), BS announced.
It was announced from BS that the president of that party, Ervin Ibrahimović, attended the meeting of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić with the President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, in Villa Gorica in Podgorica, in the capacity of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
That meeting was held yesterday.
The BS announcement states that the meeting discussed the reforms that Montenegro is implementing on the path to EU accession, the support that the EC provides to the Government of Montenegro in implementing key reforms, and the necessity of maintaining the focus of the Government and the Assembly on the development of the European agenda in order to implement the reforms with the desired dynamics. .
"It was established that the dynamics of the reforms implemented by the Government of Montenegro are good, that Montenegro has prepared positions for closing several negotiation chapters, that the goal to close all chapters by 2026 and to enter the EU by 2028 is very ambitious but Ursula von der Leyen, President of the EC, emphasized that the EC strongly supports the Government of Montenegro in the implementation of reforms and that it will provide Montenegro with all the necessary support in order to aligned with the EU," the BS statement reads.
Yesterday, von der Leyen paid an official visit to Montenegro. She met with President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, and together with Spajić she opened the Government's Security and Operations Center.
