The Ambassador of Montenegro to Ukraine, Borjanka Simićević, handed over letters of credence to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, thereby officially taking office.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP), Simićević and Zelenski stated at the meeting that the relations between Montenegro and Ukraine are friendly, followed by meaningful political dialogue and confirmed through Montenegrin solidarity and support for Ukraine during the Russian aggression.
"The interlocutors pointed out that there is significant potential for their further improvement in areas of common interest," the statement said.
Simićević reiterated that Montenegro is ready to, based on its negotiation experience, share the necessary experience and knowledge and provide all kinds of support to Ukraine on its European path.
Zelenski congratulated Simićević on taking office and thanked for the continuous support provided by Montenegro.
"He said that he is convinced that the two countries will continue to work on the intensification of cooperation and the further development of overall bilateral relations," the statement said.
