The latest Report of the European Union (EU) clearly denied all attempts by retrograde and anti-European forces to portray the fight against crime differently, Boris Bogdanović, president of the Club of Deputies and general secretary of Democratic Montenegro, announced today.
He stated in the statement that "Montenegro today is witnessing historic results in the field of justice and the fight against organized crime, results that clearly speak of the responsible and perfect management of the security sector."
"Thanks to dedicated work and a reform vision, for the first time, Montenegro has achieved results that bring it closer to the highest European standards. Not only is the fight against crime finally based on transparency and accountability, but concrete indicators of progress are also recognized in the latest EU Report, which clearly denied all attempts by retrograde and anti-European forces to present this struggle differently. Our partners in the EU clearly saw and recognized the results we achieved in establishing an effective mechanism to fight against criminal structures," said Bogdanović.
He added that "this kind of progress is not only the result of good leadership and expertise, but also the will and courage to face the legacy of corruption and crime that have eroded trust in institutions for years."
"Today, Montenegro stands on the threshold of membership in the European Union, ready to share the values of justice, security and prosperity with the European community of peoples. We have not and will not allow any force to slow down this process. Our path is the European path, and our commitment to the fight against unwavering against crime and corruption. With all the achieved results, we have shown that Montenegro has the strength and capacity to ensure the safety of its citizens and become an example of stability and responsibility in the region. Democrats, as the initiators of these changes, remain determined to lead Montenegro to even greater successes , building a state where law and justice will never be at the service of individuals, but always in the interest of the people and the European future of Montenegro, said Bogdanović.
