The discussion at the collegium was about the flags that became pictures, because they were signed and comments were added. According to the Law on State Symbols, it is known how to display the flag, announced the Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Manić.
He said that in 2022, appraiser Omer Markišić estimated that the pictures that were once flags were worth 100 and 120 euros, and the picture of Petr Lubarda was worth 45.000.
"On the other hand, today there is a painting by Ljubomir Brajović in the White Salon, which is worth 4.000 euros. I think I did a very good job, if I managed to take those two paintings to my office first. I wanted the museum director to evaluate them so he could see do they have artistic value, because I didn't want the relationship they had in 2006 with the characteristics of the Republic of Montenegro and the FR Yugoslavia, when they threw them away," said Mandić.
He added that in the Assembly there is also a portrait of Ivan Milutinović "that someone painted over, trying to straighten the five-pointed star".
"Those flags are undoubtedly the history of Montenegro and I think they have a place in the museum and we will see if they have a place there. Also, there are pictures in which people have been accused of the most serious crimes, and such pictures will be offered to the Museum, so assess whether they have value. You know that a criminal complaint should be filed against me because I brought the historical flag, the tricolor, into the cabinet," says Mandić.
"The chief state prosecutor conducted an investigation into whether I violated the Law on Preserved Symbols. The Historical Institute gave an opinion to the prosecutor's office that, according to that law, all historical flags of Montenegro are protected, as is the current one," points out Mandić.
Speaking about the proposed logo of the Assembly, he said that "in the end, we have one of the most beautiful logos".
"This is the point that unites the divided Montenegro. It was the seat of the Zeta banovina, which included Dubrovnik, Herzegovina... After 45, the sessions of the Parliament of Montenegro were held there," Mandić pointed out.
When asked by a journalist to comment on Nikolić's announcement that he is not satisfied with Spajić's statements that there is no change to the Constitution without consensus, Mandić said that if he were the opposition today, he would lecture the prime minister about the suspected murderer Alija Balijagić.
He added that he will initiate a hearing by the Committee for Political System and Corruption on the recent allegations of director Benaks that he financed an opposition political party, as well as a hearing on the murder of Pavlo Bulatović.
Regarding the allegations of changes to the flag proposed by Camaj, he referred the journalists to the Vice President of the Assembly, Nikola Camaj.
"The previous presidents of the Assembly did not cut me when they edited it either, because the Rules of Procedure allowed them to do so," said Mandić in response to a question about the logo.
