The Montenegrin parliamentary delegation, consisting of MPs Jevrosima Pejović, Momčilo Leković and Jevto Eraković, will participate in the international observation mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to monitor the general elections in the United States of America (USA), scheduled for November 5.
As announced by the Montenegrin Parliament, that mission brings together 153 MPs from 43 countries within the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the OSCE, which makes it the largest observation mission of the OSCE since the beginning of election observation activities in 1993.
The Assembly said that the mission is led by the Finnish parliamentarian and president of the OSCE PS Pia Kauma, who was appointed as the special coordinator of the short-term observation mission, while the head of the OSCE PS delegation will be the organization's vice president and Spanish MP Pere Joan Pons.
As they said, after several days of intensive briefings and meetings with experts, relevant actors and election administrators, the OSCE deputies will be deployed throughout the country to observe the election day.
"The mission, which was organized at the invitation of the US Department of State, works closely with officials from local and state election commissions to ensure effective coordination and transparency of the observation process," the statement said.
