The President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and one of the leaders of the coalition For the Future of Montenegro (ZBCG) Milan Knežević invited the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović to negotiations and discussions on the formation of the government in Podgorica.
Knežević, as reported by ZBCG, also said that they want "to renounce Jakov Milatović, who is an integral part of August 30, 2020".
"It is of great importance to show maturity and responsibility when it comes to the formation of the authorities in Podgorica," he said.
Knežević also said that there was no referral of the initiative by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to Jakov Milatović.
"Given that this has not happened yet, and bearing in mind that the final results of the elections in Podgorica have been announced, our coalition for the future of Montenegro hereby sends an invitation to the President of Montenegro, Milatović, for negotiations and discussions on the formation of the government in the capital, because we do not want to renounce Jakov Milatović, who is an integral part of August 30, 2020," said Knežević.
He added that in that coalition they do not think that Milatović "should go with the DPS".
"We don't even think that it should be neutralized and isolated, and form coalitions with the so-called satellites of the DPS, who may want us worse than the Democratic Party of Socialists itself. You had the opportunity to see all of that in the past few days," Knežević said.
He also pointed out that everyone in the coalition for the future of Montenegro wants Milatović to be a participant in the conversation, as well as that neither Spajic nor anyone else "has the right to leave even a minimum of space for the return of the DPS, not the government".
