The invitation of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) does not contain a platform for talks or fundamental principles on which the government in Podgorica would be formed, announced the Party of European Progress (SEP).
"We received from the DPS, on the invitation form, a general initiative for holding a meeting, which unfortunately did not include a platform for talks or key principles on which potential negotiations on the formation of the government would be based," said the SEP.
Last Thursday, DPS invited the parties that won mandates in the local parliament, but do not form the ruling majority at the state level, to the negotiations on the formation of the government in Podgorica. Negotiations are scheduled for today.
SEP won two mandates in the local elections on September 29.
They point out that that party participated in those elections to contribute to "the replacement of an irresponsible government which is nothing more than an outpost of harmful political processes at the state level", but that there will be no blank support for any political actor until the principles, goals and political viability are clearly defined initiative that was submitted.
They also say that SEP will not enter into coalition arrangements that would jeopardize their program goals "directed at citizens and bringing order to the administration of the capital city and city enterprises".
"Therefore, our proposal at today's meeting will be to postpone the talks for a period of 5 working days in order to prepare a platform for talks and define the fundamental principles for the constitution of the authorities in the Capital city, based primarily on programmatic and personnel competencies," the announcement reads.
