The parties that make up the coalition "Jakov Milatović - For a better Podgorica" will not start talks on the formation of the government in the capital, until they come up with a platform that will be the basis of the course of negotiations.
They announced that they stated this in response to the invitation of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) to discuss the formation of the government in Podgorica.
Last Thursday, DPS invited the parties that won mandates in the local parliament, but do not form the ruling majority at the state level, to the negotiations on the formation of the government in Podgorica. Negotiations are scheduled for today.
The coalition "Jakov Milatović - For a better Podgorica" consists of the Movement for Podgorica, the Civic Movement URA and the Movement for Changes. That list won six mandates in the local elections on September 29.
"We have received your invitation to a meeting regarding the talks regarding the formation of the government in Podgorica after the local elections. We appreciate the fact that a certain period of time has passed since the elections were held and that a certain amount of time has been spent on the announcement of the final results. We believe that the citizens of Podgorica deserve to the new government is constituted as soon as possible in order for the new administration to start activities to solve the challenges that the city is facing. After the finalization of the Platform, which is in the final stage, we will inform the public. Therefore, we will not start any negotiations before that," it is written in the reply to the DPS that they sent to the media.
