The "war" which has been waged for some time against the security sector of Montenegro by the former regime and its cells, these days is taking on new forms primarily through attacks and public appearances by former officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, i.e. "brave" former assistant directors of the UP, self-proclaimed "independent" analysts, certain representatives of the civil sector and political parties, said Democratic Montenegro MP Momčilo Leković.
He assessed that these, as he claims, coordinated attacks and criticism of the security sector represent nothing more than the politicization of tragic events and political vulture with the aim of discrediting institutions that work to preserve the stability and safety of citizens. Leković reminded that those who criticize the security sector today were silent during the former regime.
"We cannot help but notice the double standards - those who today loudly demand resignations and responsibility, at the time when they were part of the system under the leadership of Zoran Lazović, did not show even an iota of critical courage. Then they remained silent, not daring to ask questions or are questioning the work of the security structures. However, today, driven by political motives, they felt the opportunity to attack and criticize, undermining the trust of citizens in the institutions that are committed to their security. Today, they clearly see the responsibility of Danilo Šaranović, who did not even propose the director of the Police while for decades the figure and work of Zoran Lazović was promoted 'right under their noses'. This is unfortunately evidenced by numerous tragedies that happened in the past, just at the time when certain assistant directors who suddenly became loud and socially responsible, were Lazović's right-hand men. and others", it is stated in the press release that Leković delivered to the media.
According to him, the example of a murder from 2020 in Danilovgrad, where a citizen of Bar who had no ties to criminal clans, was killed, and according to the indictment, the murder was carried out by Veljko Belivuk and Marko Miljković with their associates, precisely those who, according to former assistant director of the Police Administration Baković, were banned from entering Montenegro by Zoran Lazović, assuring the entire public at a press conference on January 28, 2021 that we are not in any danger from these people, reminds Leković .
"Then as now, when everything was revealed, while the unfortunate family is still searching for the remains of their loved ones, the socially 'responsible' representatives, individuals and analysts listed above are shamefully silent on the criminal activities of Zoran Lazović and his son. This speaks of how much are independent, brave and sincere in their intentions. We note that the only ones who have the right to demand responsibility are the citizens of Montenegro - those who are not under the influence of any regime or under the influence of any bias," added the Democrat MP.
He said that "leaders of the former regime" forgot when in 2005 a married couple was killed in Herceg Novi, and then a family of five in Zelenica.
"They also forgot the year 2007, when two people were killed and two wounded in Budva. They also forgot the year 2008, when two people were killed and one wounded in Tivat. They also forgot the year 2011, when two people were killed in a car in the center of Podgorica They forgot the year 2012 when there was a triple murder, one wounding and one suicide. They also forgot the year 2013 when four people were killed in the center of Bar and Podgorica One of them was an accidental victim. They also forgot the year 2016, when two people were killed in the center of Podgorica. They also forgot the year 2017, when two people were killed in Stanjevića Rupa persons... And so the representatives of the former regime forgot the 2018 killed during their 'democracy' and their criminal security sector, while only during the mandate period of Government Duško Marković, 2020 citizens were killed, 711 in mafia clashes, while 96 innocent people were accidentally killed. Not to mention the 'Death Train', and the case in which the minister submitted a trick resignation, and the government refused to accept it, while we, as the opposition at the time, neither wanted nor wanted to abuse such tragic cases, as is done by those to whom nothing is sacred." , continued Leković.
He said that citizens who objectively evaluate the work of the security sector, without political calculations, are the only true judges of the work and effort that the security sector invests in order to improve the terrible image and situation in this sector caused by catastrophic actions in the past.
"Finally, we call on everyone to stop baseless attacks and political vultures, to respect institutions and contribute to the common goal - the security and stability of our Montenegro," he concluded.
