The Budva URA presented the process of solving traffic jams in four key steps, which, as they stated, "will be undertaken immediately after the formation of the new municipal administration".
"The first step involves the preparation of a serious, systematic traffic study, which will involve counting cars for several months, reviewing the valid planning documents, the needs of citizens and anticipating the further development of the traffic infrastructure. This study will give us a precise schedule of bus lines, the number of buses needed, their size (capacity ) on each of the lines and create a road map for the further development of public transport", pointed out from Budva URE.
The second step, they point out in the Budva URA movement, involves the establishment of a municipal company that would take over public transport and the purchase of the required number of new buses and mini-buses, which would meet the criteria of the traffic study.
"The third step, which we will implement in parallel, involves the integration of the public transport system with the Google Maps application and other related applications, so that our fellow citizens, as well as tourists, can easily and quickly use public transport and have information about the arrival of buses in real time. and GPS tracking of each bus in real time, through integrated GPS devices from the validator, so that we know at all times - where the bus we are waiting for is and how long it will take to reach its destination", said the Budva URE.
They point out that the fourth step involves the digitization of traffic lights at all intersections in Budva, in order to speed up traffic flow and significantly relieve huge traffic jams, especially during the tourist season.
"All intersections in our city will get their own cameras, which will communicate with the server and monitor traffic - and depending on the circumstances, extend the duration of the 'green wave' or shorten it. We will first install smart traffic lights on the Adriatic road, and immediately after that in other parts of Budva, in order to connect the needs of public transport, traffic studies and smart technologies and finally solve the multi-decade traffic problem", emphasized URE.
The Budva URE concluded that the construction of a bypass around Budva (on the route Lastva Grbaljska - Markovići) will begin as soon as possible, which will move all transit traffic from Budva and relieve the existing infrastructure, but also that they will build an underground garage with a capacity of 500 parking spaces, on location in front of the former Zeta film building.
