The Assembly of the Capital City of Cetinje today adopted conclusions strongly condemning and protesting the statements and positions of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić.
As told to "Vijesti", councilors of the government and the opposition voted for the conclusions.
In the conclusions of the mayor of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, it is stated that the Assembly of the Capital City demands a public apology from Mandić to the Capital City and its citizens for, as stated, "statements and attitudes that insult their dignity, reputation and honor".
"Until he issues a public apology, the Assembly of the Capital unanimously expresses the view that Andrija Mandić is not welcome in Cetinje," the conclusions state.
Also, as announced, the Assembly of the Capital City of Cetinje invited the competent state institutions to, in accordance with the law, carry out actions and activities aimed at protecting the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Capital City of Cetinje, and to initiate appropriate procedures in order to determine whether statements and positions the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, has elements of misdemeanor or other liability.
The Assembly of the Capital did not include in the agenda of the session the proposal of the committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists to declare Mandić an undesirable person in the Capital because, as explained, the Assembly does not have the authority to make such a decision.
