The authorities of the security sector of Montenegro and Serbia are investing enormous efforts in the search for Alija Balijagić, the suspect in the double murder in Bijela Polje, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Defense, Crime Fighting and Internal Policy Aleksa Bečić.
He said, at the session of the Assembly where he answered parliamentary questions, that 200 Montenegrin policemen and 70 soldiers are on the ground every day.
"And from the holders of important positions in this society, you have comedy, making fun of the efforts and engagement of those people," said Bečić.
He pointed to the information that some other authorities, twenty years ago, were looking for Balijagić for months and that in the end he was not arrested by them, but by ordinary citizens.
"You heard that another country joined the search five or six days ago. A country that is bigger, that by the nature of things has greater capacities, you have seen the announcements of prominent officials of that country, even some deadlines have been set, the most elite units have been engaged, the most modern equipment is being used, so there is a challenge again. The search is still ongoing. It is very complex," said Becic.
According to him, some messages of "political vulture" were heard in Montenegro during that time.
“But we are not the same. Many tragic events took place - the case of Anela Hodžić, the Roganović family, including the case of Cetinje. "None of our colleagues took political vultures on these topics," said Bečić.
