Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić, the holder of the electoral list "Democrats - Europe now - Even stronger - Dragana Kažanegra Stanišić" in the elections in Budva, said that their priority is the preservation and improvement of the Old Town, "the symbol of Budva and the cultural heritage of Montenegro".
She said, among other things, that she will form a special body for the management and rehabilitation of the Old Town, with a focus on improving the living conditions of the residents and improving the tourist offer.
They will reconstruct, as she added, and put into operation the buildings owned by the Municipality, which will be intended for municipal and state cultural institutions, as well as for independent cultural creators.
"We will pay special attention to the rehabilitation of the ramparts, improvement of lighting, cleanliness and the development of new cultural contents. We will provide the inhabitants of the Old Town with a dignified life in accordance with its historical and cultural importance," the announcement reads.
Kažanegra Stanišić says that the Old Town and Sveti Stefan are priceless assets of Budva and Montenegro - "the two eyes of our municipality", and that is why they advocate for the urgent adoption of an urban plan for the Old Town, in order to ensure the sustainable protection of this cultural treasure.
"Temporarily, until the adoption of the plan, we will implement an effective management plan in cooperation with experts, in order to stop further devastation of cultural assets. Our vision is Budva as a combination of tradition and modernity, where cultural heritage forms the basis of development. Therefore, dear citizens, vote for a team that cares about the future of our city, and I will not disappoint your expectations," the announcement reads.
