The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) assessed that the Government does not have the capacity to deal with organized criminal groups, so they say it is time for political responsibility.
"The chaos that the Montenegrin security sector has been experiencing for the last four years, and that the Democratic Party of Socialists has been continuously warning about, these days culminates in the chaos that reigns on Montenegrin streets. For years, we have been warning that fulfilling boyhood dreams and buttoning jackets in front of lines in promotional videos will have far-reaching consequences. consequences and that citizens should rightly be concerned about their own safety," the announcement reads.
They say that the events of the last year, and especially recent events, have confirmed the correctness of such attitudes.
"It all started in November of last year when an armored car was hit with a bullet in Cetinje, to continue with the liquidation in Meteriz, and culminated with the placement of an explosive device on a tree in May of this year. Additionally, after the sniper killing and the brutal liquidation in the middle of rush hour at the busiest intersection in Montenegro, it is clear that this Government does not have the capacity to deal with organized criminal groups. When you add to that the fact that the entire composition of the Police Administration and the Army of Montenegro are not able to deprive a 70-year-old man who is hiding alone in forest, then every citizen should rightly be concerned about his own safety."
That, they say from the DPS, should not surprise anyone. "Should we remind you that the Director of the Police Administration is a man who was illegally dismissed twice, that the current Minister of the Interior accused the Prime Minister of abusing his official position by appointing the Director of the Police Department, and that the National Security Agency is headed by Bato Milić, whose report was not adopted by the Security Committee ."
They say that everything that is happening is solely the fault of the "political elite who have been leading the country for four years", and not at all the courts, which are overloaded with work, and to which political subjects from the authorities "try to make judgments" and to judge for them - now additionally through the new requirement that the detention last five years "in order to actually judge before the court decision".
"And that's why it's time for political responsibility. The security sector and human lives are too serious a topic for political exaggerations and thinking about political points and interests. At least once take responsibility and resign to show that your armchair is not ahead of the lives of our citizens." , DPS announced.
