MP of Democratic Montenegro MNomčilo Leković claims that there is a connection between crime and politics "which is working with the aim of trying to take over power and establish control over the security sector, which they lost in the mandate of the 44th Government".
He also accused "individuals from the judiciary" of "very likely helping them in this endeavor".
"We have a reasonable suspicion that certain political subjects, structures and representatives of the former regime, under the coordination of criminal groups, are making significant efforts to destabilize and overthrow the 44th Government of Montenegro. The ultimate goal of these activities is to return control over the security sector, which would allow criminal organizations unhindered realization of their interests to the detriment of the citizens and the state of Montenegro," said Leković.
He added that it is particularly symptomatic that "individual representatives of the former regime, practically overnight, became 'experts' for liquidations, publicly and in detail describing the logistics and method of execution of criminal crimes."
"The series of events, including the sniper killing in Cetinje just two days before the elections in the capital and the prevented liquidation in Budva before that, creates a well-founded suspicion that criminal clans are trying to once again influence the political situation in the country and the outcome of the election process, using methods that create an atmosphere panic and chaos".
Leković claims that such activities raise suspicions that behind them lies the intention of establishing control over the state by the Kavac and Skaljar clans.
"Unfortunately, this is not the first time that criminal structures are used for political purposes and election campaigns. We remind you that the correspondence from the pre-election period of 2020, in which the escaped police officer Milović informs the criminal Zvicer about Zoran Lazović's 'permission' for liquidations after the election, pointed out the connection of the security top at that time with criminal structures. Milović then writes: 'I was sitting with the elder 3-4 days ago and he told me - don't make a choice that you don't have to, provided that no harm is done to you "After the election, let them shout. That's exactly what he told me - let them do it now, but take care to keep it as small as possible," said Leković.
He also claims that the termination of the series of liquidations "after the formation of the DPS Government" after the overthrow of the Government of Zdravko Krivokapić "clearly points to the possibility of agreement and control over these processes, which further supports suspicions that criminal and political structures operate according to an established pattern".
"The question arises - are the same criminal structures, now again in collusion with the political structures of the former regime and their helpers in an attempt to overthrow those who honestly manage the security sector and bring the so-called 'mediators', i.e. ministers and officials, to its head , who are in fact mafia lawyers. It is very likely that individuals from the judiciary, who do not respect the deadlines prescribed by the law for making first-instance verdicts, allow criminals to get out of prison and take part in settlements. In 2016, the DPS, i.e. their deputy president, answering the question of whether citizens feel safe with targeted explosions and the possibility of killing someone with a sniper shot, said that: 'no one kills honest citizens', today when they have no control over the security sector, they suddenly express a huge concern for those who during their rule, as we see from this statement, were, according to them, just ordinary criminals who did not deserve to live. And let's not talk about the fact that they put the accidentally killed citizens of Montenegro, of whom there were countless, in the same basket."
Leković claims that the ultimate goal of "these synchronized activities is the return of the previous regime and the release of their owners Zoran Lazović, Petar Lazović, Milivoj Katnić and others".
