The parties that are the opposition at the state level and those that led to the elections in Podgorica will, if there is responsibility towards the citizens, on the basis of principles and democratic principles, agree on a new government in the capital city, said Deputy of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Nikola Rakočević.
He said that DPS responsibly approaches citizens' messages.
Rakočević said that they are the strongest political entity, which is why they initiated negotiations and discussions with everyone who is not the government at the central level, which is the principle platform on which they participated in the elections in the capital.
He told the MINA Agency that they believe that the DPS will continue these talks after the finalization and formalization of the platform that they will offer to citizens and political subjects, whom they believe can be partners in establishing normality, seriousness and order in Podgorica.
"If there is responsibility and principledness towards the citizens and dignity towards themselves, then the political parties that are the opposition at the central level and the parties that led to the elections in the capital will sit down and agree on the government in Podgorica on the basis of principles and democratic principles," he said. Rakočević.
As he stated, this means establishing a better, more sustainable service for all citizens of Podgorica.
"I believe that it will be a serious government that will be an alternative to policies at the central level," Rakočević added.
He pointed out that DPS is working intensively on the realization of the platform, for which they want it to be concrete.
"We know what the deadlines are and that they are running, that's why we will very soon come before the citizens and political entities with ideas on how to further develop the city, and the public will be informed," said Rakočević.
He said that he would not bid on whether the list of the Civic Movement URA and the President of the State, Jakov Milatović, would respond to the invitation for a meeting.
"They have their own political platform and political statement, I am sure that in these elections they appeared as an alternative to the harmful authorities at the central and capital city level. Let their works speak for them, and I would not comment further," added Rakočević.
He said that, judging by the fact that the current government has already offered to increase the price of water in the capital city by 40 percent, it is clear in what direction they still plan to manage the city as long as they exercise their power in a technical mandate.
"To the detriment of the citizens, and to the benefit of their political and party's daily political goals," Rakočević assessed.
