Instead, respecting the electoral will of the citizens, that our comrades-in-arms of yesterday accepted the hand we extended to them, they decided to take the road of no return, together with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), announced Mladen Mikijelj, the holder of the list of the coalition "For the future of Budva - Budva must forward".
The coalition "For the future of Budva - Budva must move forward" announced that the final meeting of that coalition was held last night.
"We will win, and we already won in May, but on November 17 we will finish that work. We also won after the elections, in our attitude towards the citizens and Budva. Instead, respecting the electoral will of the citizens, for our comrades of yesterday to accept the hand we extended to them, they decided to start the road of no return, together with DPS. During the previous season, Budva hit the bottom, just as it was during the corrupt and criminal government of DPS. Unlike them, we will work on reconciliation, bravely, with with the knowledge we have, in order for Budva to move forward," Mikijelj pointed out.
He added that courage is "when you return the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry line and put it at the service of all citizens of Montenegro, as well as the Port of Budva, which we returned to the people of Budva".
"Knowledge is when you create a company with an income of 22 million euros from a company that had an income of four million euros in just three years," said Mikijelj.
He said that he is proud of the team that possesses both knowledge and courage.
"We will implement projects, raise the standard of living of citizens and work on sustainable tourism, with the help of our friends in the government. Budva must move forward, and that by working to reconcile everyone. Budva is all: Grbalj, Pljevlja, Paštrovići, Bijelo Polje, Maini , Vasojevići, Mojkovac, Brajići, Nikšić. We will all work together for the benefit of Budva, Budva must go forward. On Sunday, November 17, we celebrate the victory of all of us", concluded Mikijelj.
The President of Nikšić Municipality, Marko Kovačević, pointed out that Budva needs people who will answer to the citizens, not criminal structures.
"There has been enough tapping in the place", said Kovačević, emphasizing that it is time for dedicated and responsible people, such as the team of the coalition "For the future of Budva - Budva must move forward".
Kovačević praised the work of Mikijelj in the Public Enterprise for the Management of the Maritime Assets of Montenegro, where, as he said, Mikijelj managed to return key resources to the state and its citizens.
Kovačević expressed his certainty that Mikijelj will apply the same approach in Budva through the implementation of the most important infrastructure projects, in order to ensure the progress of the city and put the interests of the citizens in the foreground.
Minister of Tourism and member of the presidency of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Simonida Kordić, emphasized the importance of tourism for the development of Budva, but also the need for it to be managed in a sustainable and transparent manner.
"In recent months, Budva has gone through a period of irresponsible management that the citizens would rather forget. This situation happens when the city is neglected and abused, instead of being managed in a homely manner. This year, the image of Budva, marred by garbage and works in the middle of the tourist season, showed is that this approach is not what Budva deserves. It's time to change that," said Kordić.
She emphasized that Budva is at a turning point and must return to domestic management.
"Mladen Mikijelj, as the host of his family and the host of the Public Enterprise for the Management of the Maritime Assets of Montenegro and the future president of the Municipality of Budva, will lead Budva forward. Budva is the jewel of Montenegro. Budva lives on tourism, but tourism also largely lives on Budva." Kordić concluded.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and President of the Socialist People's Party (SNP), Vladimir Joković, pointed out that Budva can be strong thanks to its resources, but only with responsible people who are ready to work for the citizens.
"We have the best coalition. I invite all citizens of Budva who want its progress to support the coalition 'For the future of Budva - Budva must go forward' on November 17 and the future president of the Municipality of Budva, Mladen Mikijelj, M.Sc.," said Joković.
The announcement states that the Minister of Transport and Vice-President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), Maja Vukićević, "recalled the unity of four years ago, when the criminal regime of the DPS was overthrown, and the struggle they waged for 30 years."
"We remained consistent with the principles and against the regime that discriminated against Montenegro. There is no cooperation with the DPS, unlike others," emphasized Vukićević.
She added that Budva must no longer be held hostage by political entities and must not wait.
"On November 17, Budva is moving forward," said Vukićević.
The President of the Parliament of Montenegro and the President of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), Andrija Mandić, emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation for the progress of Budva.
"You are the winners of the election, Mr. Mladen Mikijelj is the president of the Municipality of Budva. You will make this city a true metropolis of tourism, which will not be known for garbage and crime, because Budva is made up of virtuous and honest people," said Mandić.
He emphasized that Budva needs brave people who will work for its progress.
"We are here because we believe that we can achieve the changes that citizens expect," said Mandić, calling for unity and support for the coalition.
He said that Budva contributes the most to the capital budget of Montenegro, and that it is important to give it back through key infrastructure projects: a promenade, a ring road, a hospital.
"It is the duty of our ministers, vice-presidents and deputies to direct the funds to projects that will bring real benefits to the citizens. Budva must be managed in a domestic manner, without corruption. If there had been no corruption and crime in the last 30 years, Budva would be much better today," he concluded. is Mandic.
